Hello and welcome to my website!
Hello everyone and welcome to my newly launched website. I’ve been one of very few hockey players fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play over 1300 games with some great NHL franchises such as the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers and the Dallas Stars. I’ve had several highlights throughout the course of my NHL career, such as winning the Stanley Cup in 1993 and serving as captain for both the Devils and the Canadiens. Since retiring from being a player in 2003, I’ve been doing the next best thing to playing, coaching!
I’m thoroughly enjoying coaching as a second career. The transition from playing to coaching has been made easier by having the opportunity to once again, be involved in top-notch organizations. The Montreal Canadiens gave me my first taste of NHL coaching during my time as an assistant there. Since then I’ve served as head coach in both the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, and the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes. Most recently, I was an assistant coach to my former coach, Ken Hitchcock, and the St. Louis Blues, going to the semi-finals of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Starting in the 2016/17 season, I’ll be returning to the Montreal Canadiens for a third time, this time as an associate coach.
While I’m a busy guy coaching during the NHL season, I still enjoy finding time to be out in the community and giving back to the game that has given me so much.
